Chapter of the Month

Congratulations to Charlton County High School!

They raised $3,000 for the State and National Outreach Project, Feed the Children.

Each year, Charlton County High FCCLA designates the entire week to raising money for a particular charity. This year we chose Feed The Children. We set up a schedule of activities during the week and all proceeds would go towards our $2500 goal. We sold silicon bracelets with the "FCCLA Feeds the Children" message embossed on it. We also sold Feed the Children tshirts to our school and community. Throughout the week, we set up change jars in the homerooms. Classes that raised the most money for the week received a pizza party and cupcakes. We also raffled two movie baskets off on Friday to the staff. We sold Nachos and Pickles after school on Tuesday and Thursday of FCCLA week. Teachers also paid $5 to dress down for the week. And students paid $1 to wear a hat on Wednesday. All of the proceeds from this activity went directly to Feed the Children.

Our FCCLA Week Agenda
Monday: Showed the informational Feed the Children video on TV to all 1st block classes. We also gave out blowpops with a sweet message on it encouraging people to help out with our cause.
Tuesday: Red and White Day. We encouraged the community and school to wear red and white in honor of FCCLA colors.
Wednesday: Hat Day. Students paid $1 to wear a hat as part of "hats off to feeding the children."
Thursday: Blue and White Day. We wore our Feed the Children shirts, which were blue and white as part of FTC colors. We also made and served lunch at the Senior Citizen Valentine's Tea Party in town.
Friday: Gift-give-a-ways. We raffled two movie baskets to the teachers and staff.

Again, at the end of the week, we raised $3000 for FTC, which was $500 more than our goal!
