Congratulations to Bleckley County High School !

The Bleckley County High School Culinary Arts Department and FCCLA Chapter recently participated in the Laurens County “Festival of Trees” kick-off event hosted at the Heart of Georgia Technical College in Dublin, GA on November 21, 2008.  Students in the Culinary Arts Program planned, prepared, decorated, and served over 500 cookies baked in the Culinary Arts Lab at Bleckley County High School.  A wide variety of different types of homemade cookies were served including sugar, gingerbread, spritz, candied peanut butter, chocolate chip, peanut butter blossom, and even some special Christmas Mice.  Over 50 decorated Christmas Trees were on display and live entertainment was also enjoyed during the evening at the Dubose Porter Center.  The five BCHS seniors and Culinary Arts Students serving at this event were Josh Williams, Ashley Odom, Shelly Lightbourne, Antonio Simmons, and Josh Floyd.  Students got into the spirit of the evening by wearing elf hats as they served the public.  They were accompanied to the event with their FCCLA Adviser, Mrs. Alice Mullis.
