Dawson High School

Dawson County members proudly show off the check from their
chapter contributing to the various state funds.

During December, DCHS FCCLA packaged homemade mixes for hot
cocoa and several breads and sweets. Members sold these at a Craft Fair at
a local elementary school and to teachers within the school system.

An annual December tradition for members is to address
Christmas cards to elderly individuals across the state. This year members
sent nearly 50 cards and were assisted by an A&A member.


FCCLA members at DCHS have raised money throughout the year with bake sales. Money raised has helped them contribute to state funds and carry out community service projects.

FCCLA members pitched in to help Skills USA collect toys which were distributed to children who were patients at Northside Forsyth Hospital.

DCHS FCCLA promotes awareness of breast cancer facts each October by creating a display in the Commons Area and submitting facts and statistics which are read on the intercom.


Six members of the Dawson County High School FCCLA chapter who are interested in careers in education attended the Future Educator Retreat at North Georgia College on Oct. 7. Following the meetings, they toured the campus with a NGCSU education major who is also a Dawson Co. Alumni & Associates member.

Dawson County High School FCCLA was represented by six members at the Fall Leadership Conference. Three local officers served as hostesses for the Friday Opening Session. Members brought back ideas to incorporate into future chapter meetings and activities.

DCHS FCCLA members incorporated World Heart Day into their yearlong Student Body Project. To promote awareness of heart disease and its symptoms, members encouraged all students and staff members to wear red on Sept. 29. Pictured are some of the many FCCLA members and Family and Consumer Sciences students who participated.
